Welcome Message |
I would like to welcome everyone to the NEW
305SprintCarRacing.com website. Our goal is
to create a website where anyone looking for information about 305 sprint
cars can come and find what they are looking for.
This will be a ongoing effort and it will take the input from track
owners, sanctioning bodies, car owners, drivers and fans to make it
successful. We welcome any and all feedback as well as schedules, links,
news articles and anything else you feel pertinent to the promotion of 305
sprint car racing.
With the 2004 racing season over and the 2005 season about 5 months away
the articles you see on this site are somewhat out of date but this was
the only information we had to put on the site at this time.

Long night of Cavalcade Day 1 Racing
by Travis Apple
After two caution filled races, the sprints almost went green flag to checkered
in a 30-lap feature. A late caution came out but that didn’t stop Frank Neill,
who had a great car as he lapped over half the field, earn his first career
victory at Mansfield Speedway.
“We had a great car and we were able to stay out of
the way of lap traffic and get it,” said Neill. “We came close several times
this year but we could never get it, it’s a great feeling to finally get one.”
The rest of the top five was Tyler Dunn (2nd), Tim
Buchanan (3rd), Doug Berryman (4th), and Adam McLellan (5th). Neill was also a
heat winner and Martin Robinson was the other heat winner. Dunn was the fastest
qualifier as he set a new track record with a time of 14.155.

Leedy, McCune win big at Fall National at MMS
By Travis Apple
In
the 30-lap sprint feature, Jimmy McCune jumped to the lead of pack on lap 1 and
he would never look back as he took home a $6,000 first place check. There were
three cautions and each time McCune got off to a great restart and sped away
from the field.
However, the fastest qualifier Tyler Dunn, who had drawn a 12 car invert,
started from that 12th position and made it all the way up to second place.
Frank Neill finished in third, Bryan Scott in fourth, and Tim Buchanan in fifth.
The Sprint results are unofficial as they were still being checked at press
time. “I would like to thank the Rebman Truck Services for giving me a ride,”
stated McCune. “I knew that if we could get to a lead we would be in good shape
because we had a great car. I knew the guys were there at the end but I was just
running as hard as I could.”
“We had a really fast car and I think if we would have had a couple more laps we
could have come close to passing,” added Dunn. “It was definitely a race of
patience with the lapped cars and sometimes second is better than nothing.”
Dunn was the fastest qualifier on Friday with a time of 14.248. The Sprints
didn’t have any other mains besides the 35 car starting field. On Friday, Jason
Kemp, Jimmy Taylor, Mike Linder, and Dustin Keegan were all heat winners.
After a huge weekend at Mansfield Motorsports Speedway, the track will have a
week of rest and will be back in action for another big event weekend on October
1st and 2nd. It’s the Mansfield Motorsports Speedway Cavalcade. On Saturday, day
1, the ISMA SuperModifieds, the 305 Sprints, Late Models, and Pure Stocks will
all be in action. On Sunday, day 2, the MSA SuperModifieds, HOSS 410 Sprints,
Modifieds, and the Stockers will be in action. For more information, weekly
polls, pictures, and much more please visit our website at

Parsley, Kemp lead green to checkered in Wins
By TRAVIS APPLE
MANSFIELD, Oh * Both Bobby Parsley and Jason Kemp were able to lead every single
lap in two separate features to earn victory lane honors at Mansfield
Motorsports Speedway. Parsley started on the pole in the Championship Racing
Association Mansfield 100 and Kemp started third in the 25 lap Mountain Dew
Xtreme Sprints race and earned his second consecutive win.
The Mt. Dew Xtreme Sprints were also in fast racing action on the .44 mile
track. Kemp who finished second in points in the 2005 season started in the
third position and got to the front of the pack by lap 2.
However, just like the CRA race, it wasn’t easy for Kemp as he Frank Neill right
on his tail for much of the race. It appeared as Neill would get around Kemp a
few times but the three time winner was able to him off. Kemp was even able to
hold him off on the final lap as Neill get by for a split second but Kemp put
the pedal down and got to victory lane.
He was running very strong and I just needed to keep where I wanted to be,”
added Kemp. “It all worked out in the end and it was a very good race. I just
hope next week our car stays like this and we can get three in a row.” The top
five finishers were Neill in second, Jimmy Taylor in third, Adam McLellan in
fourth, and Tyler Dunn in fifth. Neill was also the fastest qualifier at 14.481.
